Stonefields

Stonefields is a master planned community encompassing 110 hectares, and providing 2,500 dwellings that will be home for 6,500 people. Situated only 8kms from Auckland's central business district, Stonefields supports the need to create desirable urban living space for Auckland's ever increasing population.

Todd Property Group has taken a substantial amount of care over the past six years to create the Stonefields master plan in consultation with Auckland Council, local community boards and other key partners. The master plan has been designed by a highly experienced team of urban planners, engineers and property professionals, taking the best international practices from master planned communities across the globe and adapting them to the New Zealand lifestyle.

What is a masterplan?

The master plan concept is an all encompassing process that commences at the initiation of a project and is used to guide the detailed design for each development phase. The start point is the conception of a land use structure plan which determines the most appropriate locations for different types of activities such as a range of housing types, reserves, schools and local town centres.

A more detailed master plan integrates the broad land-uses with building outcomes and evolves by examining and adapting the structure plan to meet the community’s needs in terms of housing, infrastructure, accessibility, work options and recreation facilities. A joint approach is required utilising the skills of specialists in the key areas of architecture, landscape, changing demographics, environmental sustainability and urban design.

Attractive public amenities at Stonefields include:

  • A modern primary school, eventually capable of taking up to 500 primary school children between 1-8 years; accessible and within safe walking distance for the entire Stonefields community;
  • A five hectare lake and wetland system, set against the magnificent quarry face. The lake is already a haven for birdlife and will provide walking tracks and educational experiences.
